Development Squad

Goal – skill development & acquisition, aerobic development

Coaching Objectives

  • Build aerobic development
  • Build strength development
  • Build endurance
  • Core stability work
  • Develop and acquire more specific skills
  • Hydration and nutrition awareness
  • Use the pace clock
  • Do a broad range of drills for all strokes
  • Use a snorkel

Sessions available – 1 x 1 hour session 4 x 1.5 hour session (summer & winter)

 

Criteria

  • Be able to swim 4 strokes competently over 50 to 100 metres
  • Demonstrate correct turns on all 4 strokes
  • Swim 400 metres continuously
  • Introduce race tactics
  • Start to take ownership of the training program
  • Be aware of the competition program

Final decision is at the discretion of the coaches.
